Antique Art Deco Sterling Silver Oval Amethyst Glass Paste Brooch

Exquisite antique Art Deco era sterling silver brooch with an oval amethyst colored glass paste surrounded by a double halo of clear round cut pastes.

Though difficult to capture in photographs, the brooch is very sparkly and in many ways could pass as fine jewelry to an untrained eye.

There is a hand engraved "146/759" that is some sort of jeweler's marking on the back. The brooch, including the rolling safety catch, appears to have been hand fabricated.

Acid tests as 900 or 925 silver.

Good condition with minor signs of age and wear. One round section of the exterior halo has had some filing on the back. A few negligible abrasions on clear paste tables, but for the most part all are intact.
